How do The Burning Stones work?

After we carefully select our crystals, we drill a hole into each stone and dock a glass reservoir to the base. Using the cleanest smokeless & odorless lamp oil, fill the reservoir, insert provided fiberglass wick & wick holder in the hole, soak, light and enjoy! As with all candles, we suggest you place your candle on heat-resistant surface, avoid drafts, keep away from small children & pets, burn within site & keep away from flammable items.

How long does the candle last?

Your crystal will last forever and serves as a beautiful decorative accent to any space even when not lit. Each standard reservoir holds enough oil for 2-4 hours of burn time until needing to be refilled. Some of our larger stones have larger reservoirs that can burn for up to 8 hours. If you notice your candle runs out of oil sooner, consider lowering your wick to preserve your oil. We cannot guarantee the burn time or performance of any other oil than our smokeless, odorless lamp oil.

How do I refill my candle?

Remove the wick & holder (make sure to grab both together so the wick doesn't slide down). Using the micro tip applicator we provide, fill the reservoir with our non-toxic lamp oil. Replace the wick holder & wick, lower the wick to a small nub & let soak for 5 minutes & light. We recommend using our flameless coil lighter or matches to light your wick in order preserve the fiberglass wick/metal taper wicks & prevent any charring.

How do I refill my oil container?

Our micro-tip oil containers are childproof, airtight and fit snug to provide the safest shipping conditions. To refill your container, use a small flat screwdriver to pry the lid off, refill with our non-toxic, smokeless lamp oil and replace lid.

What type of oil do you use?

We provide you with our non-toxic, smokeless & odorless lamp oil. Our oil is combustible & not flammable, meaning it will not light unless there is a medium (like our fiberglass wick) present, further providing the safest experience. We cannot guarantee the performance, cleanliness or safety of any other product than our smokeless, odorless lamp oil.

Do the candles have a scent?

We provide the cleanest smokeless and odorless paraffin oil with each candle. While we don’t offer scented oils, we know there are scented lamp oils available online. We cannot guarantee the performance, cleanliness or safety of any other product than our smokeless, odorless lamp oil.

Do I need to replace my wick?

Our wicks are made of fiberglass vs cotton and are intended for oil candles. They provide a medium for the oil to vaporize and burn. While they last for a very long time without needing to be replaced, we still provide and extra wick and wick holder with each candle. You can also purchase extras through our shop. If you’re uncertain which wick/holder your candles uses, please reach out to us.

My flame is high. What do I do?

First make sure your candle isn’t near a fan or AC vent. Lower your wick almost all the way down to the height of the holder. If you notice your flame is unsteady or smoking, it’s likely too high and should be lowered.

Can I add essential or perfume oils to my candle?

We personally haven’t found this to be effective. Essential/perfume oils are intended to be heated over a flame or via water diffusion in order to emit fragrance. When used as a fuel (as in adding to your lamp oil), the fragrance is destroyed before it can be diffused. We cannot guarantee the performance, cleanliness or safety of any other product than our smokeless, odorless lamp oil.

How do I clean my candle?

While flame will not damage the crystal itself, if the flame is high, outdoors or around a fan, the flame can burn around the wick holder and potentially create soot. On smooth crystals, this can be remedied by wiping with a wet cloth or wipe. For clustered candles, remove wick/wick holder so it doesn’t absorb water & empty the oil from your reservoir. Using a toothbrush, invert your empty candle, brush lightly with dish soap & water and rinse upside down so the water doesn't enter the reservoir.

Why does my reservoir look used?

Since we personally guarantee each of our candles, we handmake & hand test each and every one to ensure safety and effectiveness. At times, tested oil can dry spotty inside reservoir.

Do the crystal have a meaning?

We believe that everything has energy & frequencies. Please refer to our Crystal Properties page for more information on the metaphysical properties of each stone.
